Tomashi Jackson and Nia K. Evans: Pedagogy Study Hall

October 9–November 22, 2025

“Pedagogy Study Hall” is a collaborative project by artist Tomashi Jackson and policy analyst Nia K. Evans that transforms CADVC into a site for public learning, dialogue, and creative exchange.

Part exhibition, part convening, and part community classroom, the project brings together archival materials, publications, and a series of video interviews collected during a two-year residency. These materials form the basis of a “spatialized research” presentation, animated by an evolving timeline of key events.

Throughout the exhibition, Jackson and Evans will host programs and participatory activities addressing the histories and futures of investment and disinvestment in the visual arts and humanities. Drawing and writing sessions in the gallery, live interviews with Baltimore community advocates, and panel discussions with historians, public artists, scholars of law and policy will unfold alongside other spontaneous activations. These activities will be documented and re-presented in situ, turning the gallery into a collective “study hall” for reflection and imagination.

Over the course of six weeks, Pedagogy Study Hall will host a robust series of free, public programs. Additional events will be announced as details are confirmed. Please check back for updated schedules.
