Tommy Tonight: On The Record

October 9–November 22, 2025

On view in the CADVC theater during open hours, and nightly in the Fine Arts Building amphitheater

Rooted in R&B love songs and drag performance, Tommy Tonight’s character first appeared in 2019 at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture as part of the group D’TALENTZ with Aryel René Jackson, Nikita Gale, and Ashley Teamer. This origin is captured in a video where all four artists lipsync to “End of the Road” (Boyz II Men) while exploring the residency campus, including art books in its Robert Lehman Library.

During Jackson’s CADVC residency, Tommy filmed at the Baltimore Museum of Art, singing “On My Own” (Patti LaBelle with Michael McDonald) while touring El Pérez’s 2022–2023 exhibition (which featured Jackson’s portrait).

These two videos highlight cultural institutions—the residency, the library, and the museum—and the power of claiming space within them through joy, love, and playful absurdity.
