The first in the series, produced as a CADVC webinar, is accessible here. Roundtable Participants Davarian L. Baldwin is an internationally recognized historian, cultural critic, and public advocate. He is the Paul E. Raether Distinguished Professor of American Studies and founding director of the Smart Cities Research Lab at Trinity College. His work focuses on global cities and marginalized communities, and he is the award-winning author of several books, including In the Shadow of the Ivory Tower: How Universities Are Plundering Our Cities. His commentaries have been featured in NBC News, BBC, The Washington Post, and TIME. In 2022, he was named a Freedom Scholar by the Marguerite Casey Foundation for his work in racial and economic justice. Photo by VisionMerge Productions Matt Cregor is a civil rights attorney who has practiced education law with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., Southern Poverty Law Center, Lawyers for Civil Rights and currently the Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee in Massachusetts. Matt has worked on a host of K-12 including racial harassment, voluntary integration, teacher diversity, school funding, special education and school discipline. Matt is proudest of work done in partnership with community organizations, including his work with the parent-led, student-led, and educator-led base-building groups of the national Dignity in Schools Campaign to secure federal school discipline reform during the Obama administration.
