IMDA Class of 2029 Welcome Event October 29, 2026 12PM–1PM CADVC Please join us in welcoming the 2029 class of the Intermedia and Digital Arts (IMDA) Masters of Fine Arts program! The members of the incoming IMDA class will share short creative research presentations with the campus community on Thursday, October 29th, 12- 1 p.m., at the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture. All are welcome! Presenters: Oreolúwa Akinsanmi, Gaia Bethel-Birch, Jimmy Horner, Gwyneth Lewandowski, Claire O’Brocta Oreolúwa Akinsanmi is a nature loving Afro-indigenous Yoruba creator based in the United States. Their art and life are influenced by the desire to live communally, sustainably, and in harmony with nature–building altars with found objects and utilizing materials resourced through community. Gaia Bethel-Birch is an artist born in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated with a BA from SOAS, University of London (‘19). Over the past three years she has been working with the Film Department at the Baltimore School for the Arts and continues to produce documentaries. Jimmy Horner is a digital multimedia educational artist looking to expand his practice into traditional forms of print making and papercraft. His work ranges from sequential art and animation to nature studies and diagrams. He aims to integrate themes of play and interactivity into work aimed at adults, reintroducing youthful energy to contemporary topics. Gwyneth Lewandowski is a digital painter and 3D enthusiast whose practice focuses on melancholic narrative pieces. She likes to play with the juxtaposition between the beautiful and grotesque to approach themes of intrigue and mystery. Claire O’Brocta is a Baltimore-based multimedia designer using light, sound, and games to encourage curiosity, play, and deeper connections with the world around us. Claire holds BA and BM degrees from Oberlin College and Conservatory.
